Sydney Stewart was born and raised in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue a major in Fine Art as an undergrad at UCLA. Right after graduation, she completed a Post-Baccalaureate program for drawing and painting at the Laguna College of Art and Design in 2017. To gain an even more solid foundation and a stronger portfolio, she decided to go back to school in 2019 to get a graduate’s degree in Game Development with an emphasis on Concept Art at Academy of Art university in San Francisco. She graduated early towards the end of the fall semester in December 2021, and while she was applying for jobs, she also took many classes at the Concept Design Academy online to keep her skills sharp, and even got into the mentorship program at WIA as an Illustration Mentee that same summer in 2022.
In the last week of March in 2023, she started a job as a Post-Production Assistant on Taylor Sheridan’s, “Lioness”, and stayed on until it wrapped early this past September. The job on “Lioness” was only supposed to last for 3 1/2 weeks, but the Post Production team decided to keep her on until the show wrapped up. This became a great example of Sydney’s hard work being recognized by the team, and demonstrates how valuable her contributions have been to the team and to the workflow of production.
Sydney is now available for work, and is extremely eager to join an animation studio as an artist, and to be able to collaborate with a team to help create amazing work for various projects! She uses her knowledge of various art disciplines to create a fresh and dynamic look to characters for animated feature films and/or TV shows that will inspire new ways to explore story telling for generations to come.
